Tower of Displacement explores the complex intersections of displacement, memory, and architecture within the urban landscape, viewed through the intimate lens of a single family’s experience. As war and conflict uproot communities, cities become layered with traces of trauma, leaving architectural imprints that narrate silent stories of upheaval and resilience. The tower serves as a microcosm, reflecting larger forces that shape and reshape the built environment, shifting perceptions of home, belonging, and identity. Through an exploration of personal and collective memory, this research investigates how displacement redefines both physical and psychological landscapes, examining architecture as both a repository of the past and a canvas for contested identities. By archiving personal histories and engaging with the material scars left on buildings and neighborhoods, this work aims to capture the shifting narrative of a city and the people who continually recreate it in the face of displacement.
